Alphacool has offered its Eisbaer all-in-one CPU coolers in various forms over the years and has just released a brand-new version. The new Alphacool Eisbaer Aurora series provides a few new features over the previous versions and now includes RGB lighting areas on both the fans and the CPU block, to give it a more up to date and stylish appearance. The new Alphacool Eisbaer Aurora series is the successor to the popular Eisbaer and Eisbaer LT from Alphacool. As well as the modern-looking RGB lighting that has been implemented in the Eisbaer Aurora series, Alphacool has added improvements to other areas of the all-in-one CPU cooler to boost thermal performance. Alphacool has re-worked the copper thermal transfer plate on the new Eisbaer Aurora series. DIY Donald Judd Furniture Guide 2020 | The Strategist

Every product is independently selected by (obsessive) editors. Things you buy through our links may earn New York a commission. This week, the first U.S. retrospective in 30 years of artist Donald Judd’s work opened at MoMA. You hardly have to be a diehard Judd-head who’s made the pilgrimage to Marfa to recognize the artist’s work — his influence is everywhere, from the types of floating box shelves you see at Ikea to the heels of designer shoes. As Jerry Saltz recently wrote in his essay on the retrospective, “[Judd] is in everything from the buildings we live in and the furniture we sit on to our work spaces and iPhone design.” As Judd has become increasingly ubiquitous, we at the Strategist have noticed a highly specific, subtrend emerge: stylish, moderately crafty people — from clothing designer Jesse Kamm, to interdisciplinary designer Emma Newbern, to co-chief art critic for the New York Times Roberta Smith — actually building their own Judd-inspired daybeds, shelves, and worktables.  This crop of (Judd)-furniture-making hobbyists follow a well-established lineage of actual architects and designers using the artist as a reference point in their work. Judd’s influence has ...

Malco’s 70th Anniversary Booth Celebrates Milestones, Quality | 2020-03-02

CELEBRATING 70 YEARS: Specially designed for its 70th anniversary, the Malco Products booth was a large island with special overhead signage. Celebrating its 70th anniversary, Malco Products designed its entire booth around the company’s history as well as its push towards the future. “It’s a special booth — the largest booth we’ve ever had at AHR and a much more modern design,” said Steve Thompson, general sales manager at Malco Products. “We’ve got a sign up above our booth to draw traffic. This is just a start to our year-long celebration, and all of our sales reps have come to work the booth and meet customers.” According to Thompson, the company plans to do further promotions throughout the year with t-shirts, hats, and golf shirts that will be given to the company’s distributors. Malco is proud of its roots in Annandale, Minnesota, with new operations in DeWitt, Nebraska. The Nebraska facility is a new addition to the company, where it will be making a line of locking handle tools as the facility’s initial product launch. Overall, the company’s product line is focused on American-made specialty hand tools for HVAC professionals. “We’re proud to celebrate this important mil...

Anderson: Hunting and fishing TV shows are still changing

The first snow storm of the season fell on an abandoned wooden shack on the side of Highway 61 in Two Harbors, MN. Beginning in 1965 and continuing through 1986, “The American Sportsman” was broadcast on ABC, hosted by Curt Gowdy. Gowdy was an outdoorsman and broadcast journalist who stumbled across the show’s concept when ABC sent him to Argentina to fish with world famous angler Joe Brooks. The segment was slotted in an episode of ABC’s “Wide World of Sports.” “The public reaction was so strong a new series was born,” Gowdy, who died in 2006 at the age of 86, later recalled. At its core, “The American Sportsman” was a call to adventure that reflected and validated the interests of its viewers, while also transporting them, vicariously, to places they might never visit. In those respects, the show was a film version of American outdoor storytelling that began around campfires in the 1700s. So much has happened in the centuries since, particularly in the past 50 years, that Gowdy might not recognize the outdoors broadcasting “industry.” Now, as many Minnesotans settle in for a long winter of more “watching” than “doing,” they’ll see changes among hunting and fishing shows. Some ...

Since its launch five(!) years ago, Glossier has given us many gifts in the form of Super serums, a fragrance for You, and dog toys (because, why not?). But with the brand’s latest launch, it has finally delivered the gift I have been wanting for years: the final nail in matte skin’s coffin. I get it — some people want to remove all signs of oiliness from their complexion. But dewy skin, for me, has always felt more fun, more natural, and more lively. If your beauty icon is also a glazed donut then Glossier’s latest launch is for you. As of Monday, October 14, please welcome Futuredew, the brand’s first oil-serum hybrid. Glossier describes the one-ounce bottle as “your skin, but glowier.” If the Glossier aesthetic is bright, natural-looking skin, Futuredew has it distilled down to one product. The product description reads: “You know that dewy sheen you get after you put on all your serums and moisturizers? The one that looks so good but evaporates as soon as you leave the bathroom? We created Futuredew to bottle that effect and make it last.” And in the process they essentially created a new category: aesthetic skin care. The glaz...
